ABOUT DAVID KVAPIL

Sensei David Kvapil has been developing the iKickback Survival System his entire life. Even before his first introduction to the martial arts virtues under Kyoshi Kenneth Tallack in Okinawa Karate-Do in 1981, he was a small and scrappy kid. Knowing his size could potentially make him a target for bullies, he was always looking for the most effective ways to come out on top of every and any confrontation.

Three years later he met and began to study with world-renowned martial artist Michael Bernardo, a 7-time North American and 3-time World Weapons Champion. While acting as program Director for Bernardo’s prestigious martial arts school, David became proficient in Kobudo (weapons) such as the kama, nunchaku, and the bo staff. He had the opportunity to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the legendary 4-time UFC Champion Royce Gracie, igniting David’s quest for a reality driven system.

He is a former Director for the World Karate /Kickboxing Association (WKA) and a multi-medallist for the Canadian National Team. David’s background includes private investigation and personal security, having worked for rock recording artists Korn and Kiss, and pop star Christina Aguilera.

David currently dedicates his time to the fighting techniques of mixed martial arts, the combative arts, the discipline of Iaido (The Way of the Sword), bujutsu training, and he and Dheana’s personal training practice. His prevailing passion is to make a lasting and significant contribution to the evolution of humanity by arming all women and targeted groups with the skills, knowledge, tools and confidence to protect themselves, thereby reducing the amount of fear in the global human psyche.
